Advanced connections

Each POP has a minimum of 2 x 100Mb circuits, with MANOC 1® benefiting from a 155Mb STM1 direct link with Telehouse North that comes from a different Telco. A 100Mb layer 2 VLan Ethernet connection from Redbus 1 backs it up.

Each 100Mb circuit is connected to a different Juniper M7i router in every regional POP. We can tolerate the total loss of a router and/or circuit without issue, as a single router (with its own 100Mb circuit) can provide continuous unaffected service.

In addition each POP has a redundant UPS system. This means that UKFast has two independent UPS's feeding the equipment, so should either UPS fail (or be taken out of service for maintenance) your hosting will not be affected.

London has significant duplication of connectivity spread over 2x Juniper M7i routers and a total of six 7200 series routers in five different buildings connected by dedicated dark fibre. The failure of several devices can be tolerated without it being service affecting, so your server hosting is not disturbed.
